My story with Computer Science
I decided to become a Computer Science major since I was in high school. I went to a gifted high school in Vietnam where everyone was extremely smart, and CS was the only subject that I got better grades than my classmates. When it was time to apply for college, I decided to apply as a CS major, simply because I was good at it.
As I started taking more upper division classes, I realized that it wasn't as easy as I thought. It's just like everything else. Once you go deeper into the field, it gets more challenging. But by this time, I already developed a strong connection with CS. I loved sitting in the labs for long hours solving problems, debugging my code, and discussing with other students in the labs (we call it the Dungeon). It has become an essential part of my life. It makes me happy.
Currently, I'm working as a Senior Software Engineer at LinkedIn. I still have a lot more to learn, but I will work hard to pursue my passion.
Life
One of my favorite quotes is: "The harder you fall, the higher you bounce." I went through many hardships in life but I believe that everything happens for a reason. I consider each obstacle a vital part of my life that gave me the perseverance and wisdom to conquer other barriers in life. They helped shape my dreams and motivate me to follow my aspirations.
Hobbies
When I have free time, I like to drink boba, watch TV shows, dance, and sleep! :)
I also love interior design and I play a lot of the Sims since I was 10 years old.
Random Facts
I've lived in 3 countries: Vietnam, Hong Kong, and USA
I remember most of my dreams. I also have lucid dreams where I can control what's going to happen (that's why I like sleeping =D)
